My work is mainly in watercolour or pen & watercolour. Drawing and painting are equally important to me. Combining the two techniques suits my inclination to draw and provides an underlying structure to the paintings which can be more loosely concluded with a limited palette of watercolour washes.
I am inspired by the natural world and all that grows. I paint mostly flowers and landscapes. The landscapes of North Wales have a particular significance as I have family connections there and spend many walking holidays in that region.
Some galleries where my work has been shown: – Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead; Royal Cambrian Academy, Conwy; Oriel Theatre Clwyd, Mold; Grosvenor Museum and Art Gallery, Chester; Liverpool Anglican Cathedral; Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, Llanbedrog.
In 2006 I was awarded Membership of the British Watercolour Society and a featured artist in the Welsh Border Life magazine in February 2014.
