Wirral Society of Arts 70th Anniversary Exhibition
15 Sept – 21 October 2018
Williamson Art Gallery & Museum
Slatey Rd, Birkenhead, Wirral CH43 4UE
open: Wednesday – Sunday 10am to 5pm
Having been established in 1948 as an exhibiting society for Northwest professional and semi-professional artists, the Wirral Society of Arts is celebrating its 70th Anniversary. The organisation is holding its biennial members exhibition highlighting the diverse range of its talented, contemporary artists as well as reflecting on the work of past members.
Come and see the creative, inspiring work and join the growing trend to acquire affordable, original art works! Coinciding with the members’ exhibition of recent work, there will be a small exhibition celebrating the history of the WSA and will include newly framed works from a folio of artwork presented in 1951 to the then retiring curator of the Lady Lever Gallery in Port Sunlight. These works by the WSA artists were donated to the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum earlier this year.
